Cape Split Guided Hike

Sunday June 9th, 2019: Cape Split Hike
This hike involves a 16km, 4-5 hour round-trip trek over mostly natural (rocks, roots) woodland footpath. For the first 40 minutes, the trail is on a gradual uphill grade before it levels out. Hopefully the wildflowers will be in full bloom as we trek through the hardwoods on our way to a commanding view of the Bay of Fundy from a grassy meadow atop towering 300ft cliffs (no safety barriers here, so keep well back from any edges!). Toilet facilities are located at trailhead, and 30 mins up the trail.

Please bring minimum 1L water, lunch or energy snacks, sturdy and comfy footwear, sun protection, bug repellent. A light windbreaker or layered clothing is a good idea, as it can be cool if the wind is blowing.

Please note, these are group hike events; if an individual has to turn back for any reason, the group will be expected to return with the hike guide or continue the hike at their own discretion and risk.

This event is a partnership between the Municipality of the County of Kings, Canning Recreation, and Scotian Hiker, with funding provided by the NS Department of Communities, Culture, and Heritage.

Cape Split Provincial Park
